With over 35 years of foodservice and hospitality experience – most of it with well-known Canadian franchise chains – Bruce’s mandate is to lead and coach our Team on the strategies and management disciplines required to maximize our development goals as a franchise organization.

Bruce has acted as Chief Operating Officer for a number of growth companies, including Red Robin Restaurants of Canada, Good Earth Cafes and OPA! Souvlaki. He was Operating Partner (managing the Consulting Services Division) at Franworks Development Corp.

Prior to these engagements, Bruce was President of Smitty’s Canada. There, he was responsible for revitalizing 100+ franchises within the 40-year-old chain. As Vice President of Foodservice Operations at Boston Pizza International, Bruce was responsible for the overall development and direction of that company’s franchise and operations systems during the period of their most aggressive growth.

Bruce’s managerial qualifications include graduation from the University of Guelph’s AMPHI Program (Advanced Management Program for the Hospitality Industry), and he also holds a CFM (Certified Foodservice Manager) designation. Bruce has served 3 terms on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Restaurant & Foodservices Association, during which time he has chaired virtually every operating committee and sat on the association’s Executive as well as its Strategic Planning team.

A dedicated sailor, Bruce is also passionate about skiing and the world of wine. When he isn’t on the road for business or pleasure, Bruce enjoys spending quality time with his two children.
